Join our R&D group as part of the formulation team, where you will focus on advancing lithium-ion battery technology. In this role, you will take responsibility for formulating novel materials designed for extreme fast charge and high energy density batteries. As a highly motivated, skilled, and creative Electrode Formulations Researcher, you will design, develop, optimize, and analyze electrode formulations, as well as evaluate their performance in battery cells. Your contributions will play a key role in enhancing battery performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize formulations for cathode and anode electrodes, incorporating active materials, binders, conductive agents, and solvents.
- Hands-on preparation and design of electrode slurries, ensuring proper mixing, dispersion, and homogeneity of all components for optimal formulation quality.
- Utilize advanced methods and tools to enhance formulation robustness and reproducibility.
- Conduct literature research and translate innovative ideas into practical experiments and solutions.
- Assess electrochemical performance of electrodes through battery cell testing.
- Document findings thoroughly and prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate results effectively.
- Perform in-depth analysis of formulation-to-performance relationships to identify critical parameters affecting battery behavior.
- Collaborate with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams in a self-organized and agile work environment.
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- MSc in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience in relevant industries.
- Knowledge of formulation properties and hands-on experience in formulation development, including material selection, preparation tools, and testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with Li-ion battery manufacturing (advantage).
- Knowledge of electrochemistry and solid-state diffusion (advantage).
- Strong organizational and communication skills for presenting and documenting results.
- Self-motivated and proactive with excellent time management skills to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative and innovative thinker with a positive attitude and the ability to approach challenges with out-of-the-box solutions.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
