StoreDot’s groundbreaking patent for a composite anode material made of ionic-conducting electrically insulating material, increases the capacity of the battery while supporting significant improvements in fast charging through an innovative ‘core-shell’ design that allows for expansion and contraction of the anode during the charging/discharging phases of the battery cell.

StoreDot’s breakthrough patent for electrolytes, which contain four-carbon chain esters as linear components, offers unprecedented benefits in terms of safety, performance, and charging speed. The patented electrolyte solution is designed to overcome the limitations of conventional electrolytes in applications such as extreme fast charging EV lithium-ion batteries.

By utilizing electrolytes that do not react with the anodes and promote SEI formation on the cathodes, StoreDot addresses several key limitations of Si-dominant anodes found in Li-ion batteries. The improved performance, enhanced lifetime, and increased safety of these fast-charging cells pave the way for a more sustainable and efficient energy storage future, enabling a more sustainable and rapid rollout of fast charging EVs.
